Our region covers Hawke's Bay and Poverty Bay.
The HB Association runs works closely with the Hawke's Bay Breeders' Association in running race day functions, racing awards and a yearly foal walk.

With the racecourse having been out of commission for 18 months, the Association has been inactive but is looking forward in getting back to normal from September/October 2026.
We look forward to welcoming new members to our region and Association!

Henry Taylor was the Association's Secretary for approximately 20 years, initially during the Presidency of Bill Stevens and then Tony Lyndon, who held the role of President for 31 years.
Peter Johnstone took over the role from Henry in 2007 and retired from role in 2025.
